Timeline Aug 2024 – Mar 2025

Joined the team as a contractor to help modernize Starkey, a medical industry platform built on Salesforce. The challenge was migrating to current Salesforce standards without disrupting a production system that healthcare professionals use daily.

Key Contributions

  • Platform migration — helped move the application from legacy Salesforce patterns to Lightning Web Components and Lightning Web Runtime, working incrementally to avoid disruption
  • Design System — contributed to a reusable component library in LWC that brought visual consistency across all pages, including ones the original designs didn't cover
  • Compliance awareness — worked within strict medical data handling requirements throughout development

Technical Stack

  • Apex for backend logic and business rules
  • Lightning Web Components for the component-based UI
  • Lightning Web Runtime for the application shell
  • SOQL for data access

Why It Mattered

Medical software doesn't get second chances. The migration had to happen in-place, on a live system, with users who couldn't afford disruption. Getting this right required careful sequencing and constant coordination with the existing team.
