Tech Lead & Full Stack Developer

Client Wooter
Timeline Apr 2015 – Aug 2021

Six years, one company, and the full arc from writing my first AngularJS components to leading the engineering team. Wooter is where I learned to build products, not just features.

Projects

Wooter Sports

A sports management platform for leagues, tournaments, and pickup games across the US. I worked on the real-time scoring system, team management flows, and over time took on more ownership of the frontend architecture.

Wooter Marketplace

A sports apparel marketplace with 3D product customization — teams could design jerseys and equipment in-browser before ordering. I helped build the 3D visualization and customization features.

How I Grew

  • Year 1-2: Frontend developer, learning the ropes with AngularJS and PHP
  • Year 3-4: Led the full migration from AngularJS to React — rewriting the frontend while the product kept shipping
  • Year 5-6: Tech Lead, managing the team, owning architecture, and introducing Golang and serverless patterns

What I Delivered

  • AngularJS → React migration — led the frontend rewrite while the team continued shipping features, keeping the product stable throughout
  • Real-time scoring — helped build live game tracking used by leagues during active play
  • 3D product customization — contributed to the in-browser 3D design tool for sports apparel
  • Serverless adoption — helped move key services to AWS Lambda, improving reliability
  • Team growth — mentored junior developers and helped establish coding standards and review practices

Technical Stack

  • Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, Golang
  • Frontend: React, AngularJS (legacy)
  • Backend: Node.js, Laravel, Golang
  • Cloud: AWS
  • Databases: MySQL, Redis, Memcached
